MS-DOS and Windows 3.x are classed as legacy systems post-2000. In many cases they are not Y2K compliant or are not running on Y2K compliant hardware. Recent updating across the University has seen the disappearance of the vast majority of systems using this platform so its lack of support is unlikely to pose any serious problems.

Support for this platform will be the exception rather than the rule. File and print services may be available for a while however the need to implement secure connection methods may render backwards compatibility to this platform impossible. Some limited file and print services could be made available if it is considered operationally necessary however this approach would be discouraged as anything more than a short term fix.
