Lectopias’ primary function is the automated capture and presentation of audio and visuals from a Lectopia enabled lecture theatre. Lecturers have little to do except schedule a booking prior to the class and to make sure that they turn on and use the lapel microphone in their lecture theatre. Self-made recordings can also be uploaded and processed by Lectopia and made available to students.
Recorded lectures are available to students in a variety of formats via the web, including download, streaming and podcast.
Impatica is a complementary product to Lectopia providing the facility to produce simple media from your dektop computer. The Impatica software converts PowerPoint files with narrations to a format suitable for web based distribution to students. The resulting “impaticised” file is small (normally 95% smaller than the original) and can be made available to students through MYLO the University Learning Management System (previously known as WebCT Vista).
