Corporate Systems - Unified Student Record System (USRS) |
 |
|
Overview
The Unified Student Record System (USRS) is a database system which stores and retrieves information on enrolments, assessment results and other information relating to the progress of students through their academic career at the University of Tasmania. It is at the core of the Universities Student Information System.
The system is owned by Student & Academic Services and ITR provides support and enhancement services for the system.
More information is available at http://staff.admin.utas.edu.au/usrs/
The USRS has been continually enhanced since it was introduced in 1985. Currently it resides on a UniVerse MV database environment that has few direct interfaces with other corporate systems and web sites. However a proposal is with ICT management to fund a small project that will enable staff and students to gain web access to this database in 2007.
There is also a project SLIMS (Student Lifecycle Information Management System) looking at the possiblities for replacing the USRS over a 2-3 year period. As yet no web site exists for this project but a link will be placed here when it does.
